OUT OF THE MEDITERRANEAN TO PRAGUE, CZECH REPUBLIC

Off on my first trip out of the Mediterranean. For a quick trip, first stop in Prague, Czech Republic. Moving eastward from any country I have visited in Europe.

So to backtrack a little. A few months.. Winter 2016, with 2017 arriving, I was still stuck at home, no plans nor jobs pulling through for the future, and completely frustrated. New Years day 2017, my mom asked me what my resolution was for the new year. After the obvious, "I want to become famous", which is always my resolution for the new year, I had in mind the goal to travel. So, I decided my resolution was to visit at least three new countries in the year 2017.

Having this in mind, in the spring I visited my friend in Madrid, Spain. We traveled to London, England and Paris, France. Two new countries to put on my list. Just needed one more. Mexico was the close alternative to visit and maybe just check it off to achieve my goal. However, I was not satisfied with just settling for three. I reignited the spark to travel, and I was hungry for more. I wanted a full adventure, not just a quick visit. I wanted a challenge. Italy was number three, but it was just the start of a longer list to come.

Next stop, Prague.. I had heard so many amazing things about the city and I was so excited to experience it for myself. And wow, did it exceed my expectations. The architecture alone was mesmerizing. Every building in the same formation, but a different trim-to-house combinations of colors and each having a unique design. It was so different, yet so neat. You could just walk around for hours and look at each house, every minute finding one that was even more interesting to look at than the last.

The apartment where we stayed was centrally located and thanks to my cousin, who studied in Prague, we got all the insider tricks about the city. Visiting the touristy locations, we explored the city and enjoyed the time. Wenceslas Square, Old Town Square-Jan Hus Memorial, Jewish Ceremonial Hall, Charles Bridge, Malá Strana, Nové Město, Letenské Sady, the Prague Castle-Katedrála Svatéha Vita.

When you visit this neat city, I recommend walking through Letenské Sady, visiting the Letna Beer Garden, grabbing a few beers overlooking the view of the whole city, and then walking back over the Charles Bridge at sunset. The many people and various street musicians set the scene for such a pretty night.

(Throughout this trip I got back into shooting on manual settings with my camera. Teaching myself again, but a lot more fun.)
